We don’t like to show off achievements in an official way — instead, we’d like to share our journey of trials and discoveries with you. You’re lucky to have found this Easter egg. This story was originally written in Simplified Chinese (check the footer to switch languages).

FrostPeak Studio was founded in 2020 — but that wasn’t its original name.

In the beginning, due to a lack of artistic and aesthetic understanding, we named the studio “Iceberg Studio.” However, this came with several problems: missing domain names, occupied usernames, and countless duplicates…

In 2024, we completely abandoned the name Iceberg Studio and rebranded ourselves as FrostPeak Studio.

Back in 2019, Arkting — the founder — got his first laptop at the age of 12. In 2020, he was deeply fascinated by the internet’s brilliance and decided to create a global tech organization. Lacking skill and experience, he started coding HTML from scratch, step by step building what became Iceberg Studio.

But since the code was terrible, every day was spent either refactoring or preparing for the next refactor.

After much trial and error, Iceberg Studio finally got a decent-looking website and blog by 2022. Arkting himself, being a world-class procrastinator, didn’t publish the first blog post until 2023 — and you can still see that very first post on our blog today.

Of course, since we had no habit of archiving, much of the earlier data has been lost forever.

We have worked on many projects over the years. The most impactful one was the ZeroIn download site (now archived and discontinued), which taught us a painful lesson about bandwidth and traffic costs. The high fees charged by cloud services were unsustainable for us, as we were nearly non-profit at the time.

That’s when we started building our own infrastructure, cutting ties with major cloud providers and proudly using Cloudflare for global content delivery.

The only part we still can’t fully control is the network itself — most of our services still depend on Internet providers and Cloudflare. So, can we one day secure our own place in the digital world, just like Cloudflare did?

In early 2024, Iceberg Studio entered the “Riligrom era,” replacing Arkting as the main driver of change.

The rebranding and full reconstruction were completed by Riligrom alone, transforming the chaotic early structure into a solid foundation (though today’s FrostPeak Studio has evolved far beyond that version).

From then on, FrostPeak Studio was no longer a one-man effort. Although the team remained small, progress on new projects accelerated dramatically.

Many of the works you see today were created during this period.

As you can see, we’re not a mature studio — nor a formal organization. We still have flaws and imperfections.

But if you’ve made it this far, you’ve just read a very different kind of “About Us.” Even if it doesn’t mean much, we hope our story brings you a bit of curiosity and inspiration.
